On
three occasions I have had the opportunity to travel to South America
and have had the privilege of observing first hand the way
...in which the Indians of the Altiplano tend to their herds. The
way ...that these proud people lead their lives has
made a deep and lasting impression on me. Time and time again, instead
of filming the alpacas, I found myself focusing my lens on these simple
people. They live a rugged life. Their homes are huts with dirt floors
and their diet consists of the same simple foods that they eat
each and every day. These Indians who tend to the many herds of the
Altiplano have little or no money at all and many do not even own
a pair of shoes. In spite of what we would think of as hardship,
I find these people to be some of the kindest, happiest and most centered
individuals I have ever met. If only we could dedicate just a little
of what we do and how we act each and every day to truly honor
the way...of these fine people. After all, it isn't
really about what we don't have in life, but how we view what we do
have. We should all be grateful for living in this wonderful country
and understand how blessed we are to have these indian's alpacas in
our lives. Please join us in thanking them all for showing us their
way .....
